With over 27 years of public service experience, he is a former Head of the Anti-Dumping and Subsidies Department and one of Türkiye's leading experts and practitioners in the fields of trade policy measures and international trade law.
Mehmet Burak Soranlar is a lawyer registered with the Ankara Bar Association and specializes in trade policy measures related to the prevention of unfair competition (anti-dumping, subsidies, safeguard measures, circumvention, review investigations).
He served in the Turkish Ministry of Trade for over 27 years, during which time he held the position of Head of the Department for Preventing Unfair Competition in Imports and also served as Assistant Trade Counselor at the Permanent Representation of Türkiye to the European Union in Brussels. During his tenure, he conducted numerous anti-dumping, subsidy, and safeguard investigations both in Türkiye and internationally, chaired public hearings, and represented Türkiye in international negotiations.
After leaving his post at the ministry, Soranlar moved to the private sector, providing consultancy and legal representation in high-profile trade policy investigations on behalf of companies and industry associations from Turkey, China, Egypt, Portugal, Italy, and Georgia.
